While microwave ovens may seem ultra convenient in a fast paced world, there’s a price to pay for using them.

The microwave was invented during World War 2 by the Nazis to provide a convenient and mobile method of heating up food for German soldiers on front lines during their invasion of Russia.

After the war, the Russians banned microwaves when they realized how dangerous they were. The United States and Canada have yet to follow suite. But there is compelling evidence that microwaves can have a negative impact on health.

Health Effects of Microwave

A food scientist by the name of Dr. Hans Ulrich Hertel, and his biochemist partners, studied the health effects of microwaves on human blood and physiology. The study showed that microwaves can raise cholesterol, while decreasing hemoglobin levels and the number of red blood cells and leukocytes. Leukocytes, also known as white blood cells, are the cells of the immune system that protect us from infectious diseases and foreign invaders.

Dr. Magda Havas of Trent University has also been studying the effects of microwaves for some time. And according to him, anyone exposed to just 2.4 Ghz of radiation at a time can experience negative biological shifts to the heart. These changes often manifest physiologically as a stress response.

This stress response has been studied for decades and includes heart palpitations, the clumping of red blood cells, and fluctuation in the parasympathetic nervous system, causing a sympathetic “fight or flight” response.

The collection of symptoms is called “rapid aging syndrome” or more formally referred to as Electrohypersensitivity (EHS). The manifestation of these symptoms can be mild or more severe. But this will have a cumulateffectfect on health over time, as stress typically does.

Microwave and Radiation

Most kitchen microwaves put out an average of 2.4 Ghz of radiation. That’s enough radiation to drastically affect heart rate and heart rate variability.

Heart rate variability is a biomarker measure that’s associated with the raised risk of certain physical and mood issues. Some of these are congestive heart failure, diabetic neuropathy, anxiety, and depression.

Wifi routers also put out an average of 2.4 Ghz of radiation. While radiation from a Wifi router alone may not do a ton of harm, the cumulative effects of radiation from a router, microwave, laptop, iPad and cell phone may be the cause of mysterious health symptoms or a noticeable stress response.

Getting rid of your microwave and turning off your technological devices from time to time is a good idea. It can bring relief to the body. At the very least it’s a good idea to keep your router in a place where you don’t hang out often. Also, keep far away from the microwave to prevent double exposure.
